High Sensitivity Cardiac Troponins and ACS – the Malaysian Experience


  • hs-cTn assays are currently recommended in Malaysia to triage patients of suspected ACS.
  • Although there are strong recommendations, the adoption of hs-cTn assays are slow, due to logistic reasons.
  • The Malaysian consensus recognizes the importance of high-sensitivity troponin for the triage of chest pain patients in the emergency setting specifically in a resource limited hospital.
